INDIGENOUS - First Peoples' Innovations and Technologies

Join the Royal BC Museum in investigating the sophistication of First Peoples' cultural practices and protocols prior to contact in what is now known as British Columbia. During our workshop we will explore a variety of Indigenous innovations and technologies, such as dugout canoes, fishing and weaving. Our learning journey will be structured with a Powerpoint presentation and a virtual field trip of some of the cultural treasures in our RBCM Handling collection by RBCM's Indigenous Learning Program Developer. This workshop will culminate in a student-centred Indigenous science and Technology challenge.
