CROSS-CURRICULAR - Canadian Films That Ignite a Spark! Films, Classroom Resources and Authentic Storytelling from the National Film Board of Canada

The National Film Board of Canada has been sharing stories with Canadians for more than 80 years. In that time, the NFB’s acclaimed collection of animation and documentary film has been a powerful and trusted tool to inspire learning and engagement in the classroom.

This session will showcase the NFB’s enormous catalogue of Canadian films, digital lessons and Interactive workshops that explore issues impacting communities across BC, and beyond. Discover new films and teacher resources that focus on social justice, diversity, the environment, media literacy and Truth and Reconciliation.  

This workshop will also highlight CAMPUS, the NFB’s education streaming service available to all SD62 teachers, as well as Media School, an exciting new interactive resource designed to inspire the next generation of filmmakers through digital storytelling. Learn how to build and share your own playlists, edit short clips from your favourite NFB productions and share these with your students.  Discover teacher guides, digital lessons and interactive resources that support BC’s K-12 curriculum.
