Please join us for a full day, hands-on, traditional drum making workshop with T'Sou-ke Nation's Indigenous Knowledge Keeper Jeff Welch. Teachers will make a buffalo hide hand drum that will be theirs to keep and learn traditional teachings related to drum making and drumming.
In recognition of the traditional knowledge that will be shared along with the gift of a drum (valued at $150) to take away, we are inviting each participant to purchase and offer a gift card to Elder Welch. (Suggested donation: $50 per participant - not redeemable for Pro-D reimbursement)

-STA Members will have priority access to this workshop.
-Non-STA members will be billed the $50 for participating in the STA conference and an additional $150 to cover the cost of supplies for this workshop.

Jeff Welch is a single father, grandpa and T’Sou-ke Nation Band Member living on reserve. Jeff committed his life to becoming a Traditional Knowledge Keeper for his respective T’Sou-ke Family, learning and teaching Indigenous Education as an Indigenous Role Model in School District 62. Jeff facilitates traditional drum-making workshops for organizations interested in learning his teachings. Jeff, on occasion, does guest speaking at the University of Victoria as well.
